1968/F MG Midget MkIII in Pale primrose

Built 1967 and registered Jan 1968. Full nut and bolt professional restoration to Concours standard using a new Heritage body-shell. Finished in year 2000 and 7,000 dry miles since. Every part has been replaced or rebuilt to the highest standards. Unleaded engine. Black leather seats, double duck hood. Massive history file with photo album. I genuinely believe this to be the best condition Midget in the Country and is capable of winning any show as it is in Mint condition throughout. To build a car like this would cost over £20,000 so the asking price although expensive for a Midget but is very good value for this car.

1967/F Austin Healey Sprite MkIV 1275cc in Turquoise Blue

LEFT HAND DRIVE Very Unusal car having been the Earls Court Motor Show Car for the Donald Healey Stand in 1967. A one off colour for the show with matching hardtop, and originally beige leather interior. One lady owner from new who bought this car at the Motor show then had it shipped to Rhodesia where she lived for the next 15 years. Subsequently brought back to the UK. It has covered 81,000 miles. Fully documented evidence of this. Has had a major body restoration in 2001 costing £7,000. Seats retrimmed in white vinyl. Engine bay is original and could do with tidying. 1960 Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 ( frogeye) in Old English White

948cc with all correct specification. Red Interior. Full bare shell nut and bolt restoration back in the late 1980's by it's last owner of 23 years, with all invoices and photo history. 1961 MG Midget MkI in Ice Blue

A rare survivor of the 948cc Mk1, built in October 1961, and finished in a very attractive pale blue colour with matching blue trim. It has been impeccably maintained to retain the original specification and correct trim. Comes with an extensive history file which records many years of careful maintenance and restoration work carried out by marque specialists. It is fitted with a hard top in Old English White, plus the original blue hood and tonneau cover. A full set of BMC workshop and parts manuals and original 1961 MG brochures is included. The car makes a charming alternative to a Frogeye, being identical apart from a slightly more powerful engine and the revised Midget body style introduced in mid-1961. Warranties

Mechanical insurance based warranties offered by many garages offer a very limited cover on MG's of this age. They also only cover mechanical breakdown ie: the part must break rather than fail through wear and tear, which is usually the case on cars of this age. They have so many exclusions and clauses in the small print that making a successful claim is very rare, therefore I do not use them. Please be aware that they are old cars and as such can and will go wrong, it is very difficult to predict the where and when.

On Midgets costing over £4000 I do offer 3 months/3,000 mile (which ever is sooner) warranty on mechanical and electrical parts that might go wrong (cars in the UK only), I will also give a significant discount on labour during this period. If you require a longer warranty for peace of mind then Classic Car Warranty Ltd offer 12 Months cover from £299. This is administered by RAC warranty. All Midgets costing over £4000 will have a full service and a new MOT (unless at least 10 months remaining).

'this is a very reputable specialist insurance company owned by the MG Owners Club and have 'agreed valuations' so well worth a try. '

All cars are checked with HPI Equifax, this is to confirm the following:-

Stolen Vehicles: a check is made with any vehicles reported to the Police as stolen or missing.

Condition alert: Warns if the vehicle has been subject to a total loss claim i.e. written off because of damage, or because it has been stolen and not recovered.

Outstanding finance: checks with finance houses to see if vehicle is on finance. Some 5 million vehicles are on this register.

Security watch: Certain vehicles that are at risk from theft or fraud are registered with HPI.

VIN match: a cross reference between the chassis number and the registration number to ensure they match.

Vehicle identity: to confirm make, model, colour, engine-size and number, door-plan, fuel-type and transmission for all vehicles registered at the DVLA.

Plate Transfer: tells if the vehicle has had a number plate change registered at the DVLA since April 1990, if it has a check is made on all associated registration numbers to ensure there is no hidden history.

A copy of these checks will be shown to you and then given to you on purchase of the car.

I welcome any inspection on my Midgets before you buy and if you are unhappy with the car for any reason after purchase I do offer a 14 day refund policy. Return the car to me in the same condition and I will give you a full refund. (see note below)

HOW MUCH!     Some people ask why my cars are so expensive, well go and look at the other 'cheaper' cars and you will see why.  My prices aren't over the top when you consider their condition, and that most have had more than the asking price spent on them. They are good value at around a third cheaper than MGB Roadsters. The cost of restoring a car is more than its market value.  My prices are determined by the law of supply and demand, as I have no problem selling them then I know and so do my customers that the price is right.  If I had lots of cars in stock then I would know my prices were higher than the market price.   I have sold many Spridgets for less than private sellers ask.   Most private sellers give an exaggerated description of their own cars either deliberately or because they remember their own car in better times and have not thoroughly examined their car for some time.  For every ten cars I see I only actually buy one of them.  It can be so annoying traveling a long distance to view miss-described cars, you try it and add up the time, petrol etc involved. YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
