MGs IN STOCK 1959 Austin Healey Sprite MkI Frogeye in Old English White Advertised on behalf of the current owner who states: 'Car has had four previous owners. The total mileage is 22,100. from new. The car is completely unrestored and has never had any welding or body work done, nor does it need any. The Austin Diary and Log Book is really quite charming, describing when it was bought, and where from (Skinners of Hastings), it also describes various journeys and the amount of fuel used. It still has the dealers supplying sticker on inside of doors. It comes complete with original hard top, soft top, tonneau cover with side screens. My sister has owned it since 1999, during which time it has covered approximately 600 miles, and during this period has been kept in an air flow chamber. I have just remembered that the diary also describes when the car went for a photograpy session for the book "Original Sprite and Midget" by Terry Horler. All is as original inside - including the rubber mats which are in very good condition. Obviously, the engine is the original. This car is exactly as it came off the production line in 1959, in supurlative order. Could be a show car with a little detailing under the bonnet.' Extemely rare to find in this condition! Road Tax exempt. 1967/F Lotus Elan S3 FHC Red with Gold bumpers Special Equipment. Red with Gold Bumpers. Lotus replacement Chassis. Speedo shows 62,000 approx which is assumed correct and there is a large history file with many invoices and old MOT's and from the condition might well be correct but cannot be 100% confirmed. Rebuilt engine in the late 1980's by Vlucan Engineering, Specification as follows:- MkI block rebored +40 New set of Powermax 83.5mm pistons and rings MkII crankshaft ground (10 mains 10 big end) and balanced Flywheel and MkII conrods balanced new Vandervell competition bearings. high capacity oil pump. MkI big valve head 1.6in inlet valves, 1.380in exhaust. Fully gas flowed. New valves and guide springs. VL108 camshafts, new camfolowers,cam bearings and steel valve springs. Covered 7,000 miles since. Body work and paint in excellent condition. Interior, seats very good, wood good, but needs new set of carpets. Centre console does have a few cracks but replacements are available. Excellent original steering wheel with Colin Chapman's signiture. Lots or recent work including brake calipers, electronic ignition, new clutch, rebuilt instruments, wiper motor. Overall a very good example just needs a set of carpets to make perfect. MODERN CARS CONSIDERED IN PART EXCHANGE Mechanical insurance based warranties offered by many garages offer a very limited cover on MG's of this age. They also only cover mechanical breakdown ie: the part must break rather than fail through wear and tear, which is usually the case on cars of this age. They have so many exclusions and clauses in the small print that making a successful claim is very rare, therefore I do not use them. Please be aware that they are old cars and as such can and will go wrong, it is very difficult to predict the where and when. On Midgets costing over £4000 I do offer 3 months/3,000 mile (which ever is sooner) warranty on mechanical and electrical parts that might go wrong (cars in the UK only), I will also give a significant discount on labour during this period. Car Insurance All cars are checked with HPI Equifax, this is to confirm the following:- Stolen Vehicles: a check is made with any vehicles reported to the Police as stolen or missing. Condition alert: Warns if the vehicle has been subject to a total loss claim i.e. written off because of damage, or because it has been stolen and not recovered. Outstanding finance: checks with finance houses to see if vehicle is on finance. Some 5 million vehicles are on this register. Security watch: Certain vehicles that are at risk from theft or fraud are registered with HPI. VIN match: a cross reference between the chassis number and the registration number to ensure they match. Vehicle identity: to confirm make, model, colour, engine-size and number, door-plan, fuel-type and transmission for all vehicles registered at the DVLA. Plate Transfer: tells if the vehicle has had a number plate change registered at the DVLA since April 1990, if it has a check is made on all associated registration numbers to ensure there is no hidden history. A copy of these checks will be shown to you and then given to you on purchase of the car. I welcome any inspection on my Midgets before you buy and if you are unhappy with the car for any reason after purchase I do offer a 14 day refund policy. Some people ask why my cars are so expensive, well go and look at
the other 'cheaper' cars and you will see why. My prices aren't
over the top when you consider their condition, and that most have
had more than the asking price spent on them. They are good
value at around a third cheaper than MGB Roadsters. The cost of
restoring a car is more than its market value. My prices are
determined by the law of supply and demand, as I have no problem
selling them then I know and so do my customers that the price is
right. If I had lots of cars in stock then I would know my
prices were higher than the market price. I have sold
many Spridgets for less than private sellers ask. Most
private sellers give an exaggerated description of their own cars
either deliberately or because they remember their own car in better
times and have not thoroughly examined their car for some time.
For every ten cars I see I only actually buy one of them.
It can be so annoying traveling a long distance to view miss-described
cars, you try it and add up the time, petrol etc involved. YOU REALLY
