‘Car has had four previous owners. The total mileage is 22,100. from new.
The car is completely unrestored and has never had any welding or bodywork done, nor does it need any.
The Austin Diary and Log Book are really quite charming, describing when it was bought, and where from (Skinners of Hastings), it also describes various journeys and the amount of fuel used. It still has the dealers supplying sticker on the inside of doors. It comes complete with original hard top, soft top, tonneau cover with side screens.
My sister has owned it since 1999, during which time it has covered approximately 600 miles, and during this period has been kept in an airflow chamber.
I have just remembered that the diary also describes when the car went for a photography session for the book “Original Sprite and Midget” by Terry Horler. All is as original inside – including the rubber mats which are in very good condition.
Obviously, the engine is the original. This car is exactly as it came off the production line in 1959, in superlative order. Could be a show car with a little detailing under the bonnet.’ Extremely rare to find in this condition!
