1960 Austin Healey Sprite MkI

50,000 miles from new

£0

Description

This is a two owner 50,000 miles, matching numbers, Frogeye Sprite in the rare colour of Whitehall Nevada Beige. Taken off the road in 1964 the car sat in the first owner’s garage until purchased by the second owner in 2012. All steel and original registration number.

Peter Ellis Healey restorations then carried out a fully detailed bare shell restoration completed in 2014 and only 60 miles since.

Peter Ellis found very little rust and any that was found was cut out and replaced including both spring hanger boxes. Peter did remark that it was the best condition Frogeye he had seen before restoration. The body shell was shot blasted before being completely rebuilt with a full photo record.

The engine was stripped and found to be in remarkably good condition, it was then fully rebuilt including an unleaded cylinder head. The gearbox was a goldseal replacement with its original BMC label.

All other parts were restored or replaced with new.

A British Motor Heritage certificate confirms chassis and engine number, original colour etc. The original fitted extras were the front bumper, heater and washers.

Now fully restored and in showroom condition the history and originality increase this Sprite’s investment value.
